Our Commitment to Sustainability
At SOS Systems, sustainability isn’t just a policy. It’s part of who we are. We understand the responsibility that comes with our work and are fully committed to reducing our environmental footprint while helping our clients do the same. Across the SOS Group, we’ve embedded sustainable practices into every aspect of our operations, from internal processes to the solutions we provide to our clients.

Eco-Conscious Client Solutions
We offer a range of sustainable options tailored for our clients.
These include eco-sustainable bags for document distribution and certified reforestation through the PrintReleaf initiative. This programme allows clients to offset the paper they use by contributing to global reforestation efforts. In addition to offering reforestation to offset the biomass of the paper and fibre-based materials your business consumes, PrintReleaf facilitates offsetting the carbon associated with the production of these industry-critical resources. By offsetting the carbon emissions associated with your paper and fibre-based materials footprint, PrintReleaf’s Verra-certified Carbon Offsets check the box in your list of Scope 3 carbon emissions.
Clients enrolled in our SOS Green Cover programme benefit further from toner recycling services and enhanced sustainability support, including regular automated reporting on your sustainability impact, certified certificates and a list of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals you’re achieving.
We also use Carbon Zero Paper, such as Canon Black Label, to ensure that even the materials used in our print jobs reduce environmental impact.
Additionally, through our partnership with Climate Partners, we actively offset the carbon emissions generated during the production process.
Responsible Operations and Green Infrastructure
Recycling is a fundamental part of our workplace culture. Every SOS office features clearly labelled recycling stations, encouraging active staff participation and increasing daily environmental awareness. In terms of transportation, we’ve committed to using only electric or hybrid company cars, and we also provide complimentary electric vehicle charging points at our head office, making sustainable commuting easier for staff and visitors alike.

Global Reforestation Impact
Through our PrintReleaf partnership, we support certified reforestation projects in regions including California, Canada, Ireland, Malaysia, Tanzania, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, France, India, Madagascar, Mexico, England and South Dakota. Every page printed contributes to rebuilding vital ecosystems around the world, allowing our clients to make a global difference through their local actions.

Education is at the heart of our sustainability strategy.
Our ESG team leads an internal programme dedicated to building awareness and action. Through online sessions, guest speakers, volunteering opportunities, employee engagement initiatives, and structured training, we ensure all staff are knowledgeable about sustainability best practices and their environmental impact.
Ethical Supply Chains
We extend our values of sustainability and responsibility across our entire supply chain. We carefully vet all suppliers to ensure alignment with our environmental and ethical standards. From procurement through to delivery, our partnerships are chosen based on their commitment to sustainable, transparent, and responsible business practices.
SOS Systems takes corporate social responsibility seriously.
We aim to positively impact the physical and mental well-being of our colleagues, customers, and the communities we serve. We encourage our team to participate in charitable initiatives, fundraisers, and local volunteering, while also supporting national organisations. We prioritise hiring locally to our offices, where possible and using regional suppliers to foster community growth.

Supporting the Patrick Evans Foundation
We’re proud to support the Patrick Evans Foundation, a cause close to our hearts. The foundation champions a range of charitable goals, from helping those affected by illness and bereavement to providing access to recreational activities for disadvantaged young people and promoting safety and awareness in sports and outdoor activities.

Governance and Accreditations
We uphold high standards of governance, with policies including anti-slavery, anti-bribery and corruption, equal opportunities, business continuity, privacy, and whistleblowing. These ensure ethical, secure, and transparent operations. Our credentials include ISO 9001, ISO 14000, ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, and Canon Platinum Partner status, demonstrating our dedication to quality, compliance, and sustainability.
Aligning with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
At SOS Systems, we recognise the importance of aligning our business practices with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These goals provide a universal framework for building a better future, and we are proud to align with the goals set out by the UN for tangible, meaningful actions.
We address poverty and hunger through household and food donations, as well as volunteer days where our staff support food banks and charities. We promote health and wellbeing through company-wide exercise challenges, a staff Strava group, walk-and-talk meetings, and mental health workshops.
For quality education, we support apprenticeships and partner with the Patrick Evans Foundation to provide educational materials to charities and schools. Our commitment to gender equality is reflected in our consistent benchmarking to ensure pay equity and promote an inclusive workplace culture.
On the environmental front, we ensure access to clean water and sanitation with filtered water stations in every office and support clean energy through the use of hybrid cars, green energy suppliers, and EV charging points. We also leverage cloud technology to reduce reliance on physical servers and streamline operations.
Our practices around responsible consumption and production include a curricular economy, refurbishing and reselling multifunctional devices, recycling toner, and using Carbon Zero Paper. Our climate action strategy commits us to reducing emissions annually, supporting reforestation, harvesting MFD parts, and reducing plastic waste.
Biodiversity is also a priority. We contribute to life on land and in the water through reforestation projects and reducing waste, and promote sustainability in cities and communities through green transportation and local partnerships.
Finally, we understand that none of this is possible without strong relationships. Partnerships for the goals are a fundamental part of our approach, building trust, collaboration, and shared action across all areas of our business.
Helping the Planet, One Print at a Time
SOS Systems is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all areas of our business and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to take a robust approach to these issues and remain dedicated to promoting ethical practices, transparency, and accountability. We take steps to ensure that modern slavery does not exist within our operations or among our suppliers. This includes due diligence, supplier assessments, and clear internal policies and training to help our team identify and address potential risks. We continuously review and strengthen our processes to uphold our commitment to human rights and fair labour practices.
