Canon is the official imaging supporter of the Commonwealth Games 2022, in Birmingham. The Commonwealth Games is one of the first times that Canon has sponsored such a high-profile sporting event, but we don’t imagine it will be the last.

Canon provide MRI and X-Ray facilities to athletes at the games
Canon has announced that as part of its imaging sponsorship deal, it will be providing the following imaging services to the games and athletes:
On site medical imaging services
Canon confirms it will provide top of the range MRI and X-ray imaging facilities to all competitors, throughout the Athlete’s Village. Diagnostic vehicles will make these facilities easily accessible and will help athletes from every nation maintain peak physical condition for their event.
Camera support as part of their Canon professional services
Canon will provide much needed support to broadcasters and photographers behind the scenes helping them capture all the action and document one of the worlds largest competitions in full and vivid colour.
Canon printing solutions
Canon will provide printing services onsite at the games. Helping event organiser to deliver the very best experience for spectators and athletes alike. Services will include both hardware and software print services.
More about the Commonwealth Games
The Commonwealth games began in 1930 and is held once every 4 years. It features countries from past and present members of the British Commonwealth. The games are one of the largest sporting events hosting in the world, regularly featuring more than 70 nations and over 6,000 athletes.
The games have won praise in the past for their inclusion and diversity status. Para-sports receives just as much airtime and promotion as the able-bodied events. This year’s event is hosted in Birmingham and will run for 12 days between 28th July and 8th August 2022. The games will include 19 sports ranging from Cricket to Rugby, Cycling to Hockey.
